El académico y subdirector del Centro de Estudios Judaicos (CEJ) de la Universidad de Chile, Dr. Nelson Marín, participó recientemente en el Congreso de la Latin American Studies Association (LASA2026) en París, Francia. Bajo el lema Republic and Revolution, el encuentro ofreció un espacio propicio para el intercambio académico de alto nivel.
En esta edición, el profesor Marín integró y lideró distintas instancias de debate orientadas a analizar el rol de las identidades religiosas en los escenarios sociopolíticos actuales de la región.
La mesa, que buscó discutir cómo los activismos religiosos contribuyen a los procesos de fortalecimiento o debilitamiento de las democracias en América Latina, contó también con las ponencias de la Dra. Anna Peterson (University of Florida) y la Dra. Carol Rodríguez Gutiérrez (Arihanta Institute, California), además de la moderación de la Dra. Valentina Pereira (Universidad Católica del Uruguay y miembro ACSRAL). El taller propició un nutrido diálogo con investigadores de diversos países asistentes al congreso.
