New benefit for members
The Latin American Studies Association is pleased to announce its headquarters inauguration and the Latin American Cultural Center and Museum (LACC), on September 15, 2022. The mission of LACC is to celebrate Latin America through compelling programs dedicated to fostering a heightened understanding and appreciation for Latin American arts, history, and culture.
LACC will offer dynamic programming that includes permanent and temporary exhibits, lectures, programs, performances in its 100-seat auditorium, and meeting spaces to host small conferences and gatherings. The goal is to make these programs available to the world through virtual web-based tours, livestreaming of concerts, lectures and performances, and distance-learning initiatives.
All LASA members become members of LACC at no additional cost. A sub-committee of the Executive Council is working on more benefits and forms of participation that will be communicated to the LASA membership in a timely manner.
The inauguration
A fundraising event has been planned for September 15, 2022, to mark the inauguration of LACC. Space is limited to 150 attendees. Please send an email to lasa@lasaweb.org if you wish to participate so we can send you a personal invitation.
