Meet the new representatives of the Executive Council

The Latin American Studies Association announces the newly elected members of the Executive Council. We are grateful for all the members that voted and congratulate the new elected representatives.

The officials shall take their responsibilities on June 2024 after LASA’s International Hybrid Congress LASA2024, which will be held June 12-15, 2024. The elected persons will be part of the Executive Council, which is responsible for overseeing the interests of the Association.

The Constitution and By-Laws of the Latin American Studies Association establishes that the Vice President shall serve in that capacity for the term of one year, and upon completion, she/he shall become the President during the next year. Subsequently, the President shall remain on the Executive Council as a voting member for one additional year.

As for the graduate student, the person in this position is in charge of representing the student membership of the Association and shall serve in that capacity for a term of two years. The two members of the Executive Council shall be elected for a term of three years.
