NBC10 Boston, New England Cable News (NECN) and Telemundo Boston Studios Tours
This tour includes exploring the newsroom, the weather center and an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to deliver the latest in news and local programming to viewers throughout New England. Visitors are allowed to take pictures and upload them to social networks: @NBC10Boston @NECN @TelemundoNI

Participants must arrive at the meeting point by their own means. By car, it takes approximately 30 minutes to get from the Marriott Copley Place Hotel, the main venue of LASA2019, to NBC Boston Station.
The USD 20 guarantees your spot on the tour. This amount, which will be donated to the Travel Grants fund of LASA, is non-refundable.
Please keep in mind that last-minute reschedules or cancellations may happen due to breaking news. Please don't forget to bring an ID with your picture that will be requested for security reasons when entering the newscast studios. Reservations can be made online only until the maximum capacity is reached.

This tour is the result of a partnership of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA), NBC10 Boston Station, the New England chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and Harvard’s David Rockefeller Center of Latin American Studies.
Frida Kahlo Exhibition
Visit the Frida Kahlo collection of traditional Mexican folk art in the Museum of Fine Arts. Choose from one of two tours taking place on Friday 24 May, 2019:

Meeting point: Lobby of the Huntington entrance, Museum of Fine Arts (MFA)
Address: 465 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115
Please gather on the right side of the lobby. An MFA officer will be there to greet you and hand out the tickets.
Approximate duration: 45 minutes.
Tour capacity: 25 people.
Reservations can be made online only until the maximum capacity is reached.
Required: ID. Backpacks and other large bags will need to be checked.

FARS Section 2019 fieldtrip (Food, Agriculture, and Rural Studies)

Location: Many Hands Organic Farm at Barre, MA
Note: Two options are available. One that includes lunch and transportation for $40, and another that only includes lunch for $10.
As is now a tradition FARS is organizing its 2019 fieldtrip. This year the Many Hands Organic Farm at Barre, MA was chosen as its fieldtrip place. The proposal is to have a two parts visit. One more historical where we will learn a bit about organic production at the region and the history of the farm and its relation to the community and its currently organization. Another part, a more practical one, includes a tour at the farm for checking what they are producing now and how and they are open to people willing to engage on some farm work that is demanded at the day of our visit as a way to engage on farms activities.
Date and time: It will take place on May 23rd leaving from the Marriot Copley Place by 7.45am in the morning and returning around 4.30pm to the same place.
How to participate: We have limited places and the deadline to apply is May 13th, also you have to:

Environmental Section Tour: Transforming Food Systems and Fisheries in New England

Location: Boston Waterfront
Cost: public transportation to Boston waterfront and lunch
Join us for a walking tour on Boston waterfront, including lunch at No Name restaurant, and conversations with local leaders from North American Marine Alliance (NAMA) and Food Sovereignty. Listen to a talk about the remarkable regional work of Food Solutions New England (FSNE) and tour the Red's Best Sustainable Fishing Aggregation and Distribution center.
Schedule:
11:00 a.m. - Meet in lobby and travel to Boston Waterfront
12:00 m - After a short walk, we will have an early lunch at No Name restaurant (Address: 15 1/2 Fish Pier East). Here we will have food and a talk/discussion by Dr Tom Kelly (FSNE) followed by a talk by Saulo Araujo (Food Sovereignty) and Niaz Dorry (NAMA)
2:00 or 2:30p.m. Arrive at Red’s Best Sustainable Fishing Aggregation and Distribution center (also on Boston Fish Pier)
Get a tour of the facility and have a Q&A. and further discussions with Tom, Saulo, Niaz, etc.
4 p.m. - Head back
